In developing the Portage Road Flat project, we met with all key stakeholders, including the neighbours of the site. This has enabled us to develop eight flats, each of three bedrooms, that will provide 24 residential beds to people living with long term mental health issues.
The flats have been designed to have equal sized bedrooms with balconies, or an outside secure area. There is a shared lawn, and a BBQ area, where people can socialise. The towers will have lifts and stairs for easy access for clients with disabilities.
We are building these to a high specification and the overall building design will maintain climate control: retaining warmth in the winter and be cool in summer, reducing electricity costs.
The location is on a public bus route, is within walking distance of LynnMall and is close to all facilities and the train station. There are two large public parks, one opposite the flats and the other is only five minutes walk away.
There will be no restrictions on tenancy so, effectively, these will be long term homes for many of our clients. Goodwood Park Healthcare Group is providing clients with all the security they need to maintain wellbeing and enable a better quality of life.
